|  |  |  |  |  | What is the IAB? Globally, the IAB is the peak industry body representing the interests of the interactive advertising community. This includes sellers, buyers, technology providers, research organizations, and other companies supporting the sale of interactive advertising.
The organization’s objectives are:
- To increase the share of advertising and marketing dollars that interactive media captures in the marketplace - To organize the industry to set standards and guidelines that make interactive an easier medium for agencies and marketers to buy and capture value - To prove and promote the effectiveness of interactive advertising to advertisers, agencies, marketers & press - To be the primary advocate for the interactive marketing and advertising industry - To expand the breadth and depth of IAB membership while increasing direct value to members
The IAB Australia was officially launched in October 2005 by Australia’s six major online publishers—Fairfax Digital, Google, News Interactive, ninemsn, Sensis, and Yahoo!7 — together with the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA). The group has three key local priorities:
1) To promote industry standards and guidelines 2) To ensure timeliness and transparency of industry data 3) To educate the marketplace about the value of interactive advertising
